Jamie Whincup Overall 3rd 5th At Eastern Creek

Jamie Whincup started Race 2 in 2nd but was passed at the start by Rick Kelly(Toll HSVD) and went down to 3rd. Jamie came in for his CPS on lap 7. After the rest of the field had completed through their pit stops Jamie was still 3rd. The Safety Car was deployed on lap 18 after Steve Owen (Autobarn Racing) stopped on the exit of Turn 9. The track went green again with 9 laps to go. With only 8 laps left in the 31 lap race the Safety Car was back out due to Shane Price (Jack Daniels Racing). 5 laps remaining and back to green. Jamie finished Race 2 in 3rd with team mate Craig Lowndes just behind in 4th and Mark Skaife (HRT) 1st and Rick Kelly 2nd.

Jamie started Race 3 of Round 5 at Eastern Creek next to his team mate Craig Lowndes on the starting grid in 3rd. Jamie’s start saw him slip to 4th and with only 1 lap completed the Safety Car was back on the track. Jamie came in for his CPS on lap 7. Once everyone else did their stops Jamie was back in 4th. Race 3 ended with Jamie 4th team mate Craig 2nd with Todd Kelly 1st and Mark Skaife 3rd.

Jamie came 2nd equal with points for the round with Todd Kelly however because Todd Kelly won Race 3 Jamie was put to 3rd overall for the Round with Mark Skaife 1st. Jamie is still 3rd in the Championship.
